Some facts about how sunglasses are made.

sunglass-lenses.jpgPeople wear various kinds of sun glasses and get satisfaction from wearing their favorite pair. Your sunglasses you wear make a statement about your sense of style. Have you ever wondered how sunglasses are made? There are various kinds of sunglasses manufactured by different manufacturers to suit needs of people. Different sunglasses have different types of lenses. Lenses are of different colors, and these varying colors provide different levels of sun protection.

While making sunglasses, lenses have to be prepared to specifications prescribed by grinding in a grinder. This usually happens during manufacturing of expensive sun glasses. The next step involves cleaning the lenses and adding tint by dipping the lens in a tint solution. Another way of adding color is by adding color to the molten lens material before the lens is formed. Lenses have to be rinsed well after tinting and later dried. Lenses are also coated with anti-reflective material and UV coating. Next step involves fitting the lens in the sunglass frame, where screws are used to fix the lens. Screws are used when the lenses are metal framed, but plastic frames use another method called tension mounting, where the lens is fitted into grooves.
